Spring Beauty


BASE
Spring is time for lighter bases and this one definitely fits the bill. It has a light to medium coverage, in fact in that respect it's very similar to Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum, however, the finish is more satin-matte than dewy which will appeal to those whose skin gets a bit shiny during the day. This is my ultimate product for when I'm in a hurry as it takes seconds to apply and blend in with fingers.

Out of all my foundations, BBs and CC creams this has the best finish ever. Again it's similar to Healthy Mix Serum in terms of coverage, but with a more satin finish. This literally looks like skin. It just melts in invisibly and it doesn't settle into lines or pores. To me this is the perfect base, but the lightest shade is too dark for a Snow White like me, so I really wish Bourjois made another lighter shade of this.

BOURJOIS Healthy Mix Serum 
This has been my favourite foundation since its release. It looks incredibly natural and fresh on the skin due to the dewy finish and it's particularly nice for dehydrated skin with dry patches because it's one of the rare foundations that doesn't look odd on such skins. This is a staple in my collection.


 EYES
I love a neutral, defined look in any season, but I think that such a look fits into spring especially well. This is the palette that started my matte neutral-taupe eye look obsession and it made me fall in love with eyeshadows. The shades in it are perfect for an everyday defined eye, but the colours can also be worn in a smokier combination. The quality is fantastic and these are some of the best matte eyeshadows around. 

Basics 2 offers a bit more variety when it comes to medium toned shades and it also contains more cool toned shades. If you find the first version too light for your skin tone, this should work at lot better. The quality is again superb as at the original, so another pack of nicely pigmented and smooth eyeshadows.

 I've raved a lot about this budget friendly palette and I still love it. It's like someone put both Naked Basics palettes together and took only the good shades in it. The quality is really good for the price and all the colours are actually matte.


CHEEKS
BENEFIT Coralista
Coral is the obvious choice for spring cheeks and Coralista is my favourite because it's gorgeous coral shade with an illuminating shimmer/glow. This is the type of shade that makes you look so fresh.

The most classic warm pink shade that brightens the face by giving a cute flush to the cheeks, but without any shimmer. The quality of these blushes in amazing, especially considering the price. 


This is one of those great super perky peaches for pale skins. I prefer this to pink blushes when I want to look healthily flushed, plus the velvet cream texture looks very natural on the skin.

Pop of Pink is a bright warm pink-coral and can be used quite sheer or build up for intensity. The liquid-mousse texture gives the cheeks that lovely natural "of course I'm not faking that flush" finish, especially when paired with a light base. 


LIPS




Nude-ist is a beautiful muted rose shade on me with a nice matte finish and it's one of those fantastic natural shades that give me a bit of colour and definition to lips. 

These are such a fancy replacement for a lip balm due to their comfortable, creamy formula and the divine peachy scent. Rose Melody is a natural-pink my-lip-but-better-shade with a nice glossy finish that is great for any easy everyday look.



This is one of my never-fails default lip colours for most occasions because it manages to brighten up my pale skin tone, but isn't too flashy or too in your face. It's a medium pink-coral or peachy-pink and I really appreciate that there is more pink in it because corals mostly look unflattering orange on me.

The brightest choice in my selection, Sweet Tart is a bright, warm Barbie pink that is very pigmented, which is a pleasant surprise for such a balmy product. 


 Cotton Candy is a warm pink that is similar to MAC's Please Me, so it's a great everyday colour, when you want something neutral, but not completely nude (on condition you have a pale skin tone). The formula is really creamy and yet it manages to cling on longer that for example Essence's pencils, so it's a nice replacement for a lipstick.

This is currently my favourite lip colour as it's one of the nicest light peachy-pinks ever. It's a good pencil that is somewhere between being creamy and hard, so it defines well, but the formula is a drier one, however, the colour makes it all worth it.

NAILS

The rather dully named nail colour, 01 is a a nude with a rose-violet-taupe tone, which is close to my skin tone, but those cool hues keep it from looking like mannequin fingers. The formula is so smooth and surprising easy to apply for an opaque nude nail polish, but what impressed me more is how shiny is the finish.

This is that one fantastic transition shade that can easily be worn from autumn though winter into spring because it's such a nice mix of styles. It's a mix of autumn-winter taupe and spring pastel lilac shades, so it looks very modern on the nails. 

ESSIE Nail Lacquer
Mint Candy Apple
The quintessential mint green nail polish that is closer to pastel blue than green. The formula makes you work for it, but there are plenty of better performing dupes anyway and you can't really have a spring without such a shade at least once on the nails.


I got this hoping it be the perfect nude nail polish, but it turned out to be so much more. It's a pastel light pink-peach shade, so it's somewhat nude but with a cute twist.  

The name completely fits this brightened coral-pink shade as it really is cute.The formula of this shade is unbeatable because the application is so smooth and even.

The greener and a bit more muted sibling of Mint Candy Apple, but with a much better performing formula.


FRAGRANCE
Katy Perry Royal Revolution
A sweet, yet fresh scent which still has that depth that also makes it a nice choice for a night out. It reminds me of a very nice smelling shampoo and I love such scents in the spring.

LA RIVE Moon
This is one of those clean, but classy scents that work no matter the occasion or season. It's basically a cheap knock-off of Hugo Boss Nuit Pour Femme and works just as well. It starts with a nice peachy burst, but it quickly settles into a nice expensive fabric softener scent.

The heaviest fragrance out of the three, but still lighter than all those vanilla-cupcake based scents like Fantasy. Fame is a lovely blend of apricot, honey and flower notes, while the depth is created by the smokiness of the incense note.

Deborah Smalto Gel Effect 01


I'll start by saying that this is one of my favourite nail polishes I've bought in the past few months, not just because of the colour, but also because of the formula. I have a thing for opaque nude nail polishes and this is one of the most beautiful as well as best performing ones. 


It's a nude with a rose-violet-taupe tone and I just love it on my nails. It's close to my skin tone, but those cool hues keep it from looking like mannequin fingers. If I compare it to Essie's Spin the Bottle, this is a cooler and darker shade of nude, while Essence's Candy Love is a lot lighter, brighter and warmer.


The formula is so smooth, especially for a nude nail polish and it feels like such a nice quality. It performs so much better than Essences Candy Love because, even though both formulas are thick, as I said before it's smoother and therefore a lot less streaky.  I apply two coats for that perfect, even finish. This nail polish is super shiny. Seriously, the shine lasted all week and usually on my nails the shine disappears very quickly (I don't know why). The brush is one of those great wide ones and it performs great.


This is just a top performer to me and I know I will wear it a lot. I'm really interested in the rest of the range as I find most colours really pretty.

New In #26


L'OREAL Super Liner So Couture
Words cannot express how disappointed I am about this product. I was originally going to repurchase that fab Kardashian Beauty one, but decided to try this one before, since it's sold in our drugstores. Not so funny story about this one -I grabbed one at the back of the stand like I always do, since I know how ill-mannered some women are (there is a special place for you lot) and when I came home it was completely dry. People at DM replaced it for me without any issues (and put mine back on the stand *awkward cricket sound*), but I'm still peeved. The nib is smaller than at the Super Liner Perfect Slim, which I actually find to be not such a good thing, while the formula is definitely not as good because it's not as black and it dries up before I have the chance to do both eyes. I must shake it constantly to get the nib saturated with product and sometimes it's so dry I can't do anything. I regret not sticking to the plan, it was really stupid of me because now I have no decent liner to use.

ESSIE Nail Lacquer
Bahama Mama
I wanted this for ages, but only recently splurged for it. When I say splurged I mean I bought it when it was 50 % off. Man, am I happy I got this. It is exactly what I wanted - Tyrian purple, so a deep berry or the perfect mix between purple and pink-rose, which is my second favourite colour after mint green.The formula is spectacular as most Essie's meaning it's really smooth as well as easy to apply evenly and it's fully opaque with two coats.

ESSIE Nail Lacquer
Watermelon
Another shade I was considering buying for at least a year and it was totally worth it. It's a warm medium pink and has an even better formula than Bahama Mama. If you have Cute as a Button shade you know what kind of formula I'm referring to. It's super pigmented, basically a one coater and you can easily get it right with one swipe of the brush due to a smooth formula. Excellent quality nail polish.

ESSENCE Colour & Go
167 Candy Love
Thanks to Katja from Viva La Vida for this recommendation. Candy Love is a warm, peachy nude with barely-there silver shimmer. The formula is like at classic pastel polishes, so quite a thick and streaky one, but two carefully applied coats should work just fine. I noticed that even with Seche Vite on top, it doesn't shine much.

This is Bahama Mama's lighter, rosier sister. It's a beautiful colour on the nails, even better than in the bottle. I couldn't stop looking at my nails when I wore it.

DEBORAH Smalto Gel Effect 
01
I saw this on Makeup and More blog and immediately fell in love with it. I actually expected it to look warmer, but it's a nude with a strong rose-violet-taupe tone and I just love it on my nails. The formula is so smooth, especially for a nude and it feels like such a nice quality  nail polish. It performs so much better than Essence's Candy Love and it's super shiny. I'm currently wearing this on my nails and it's definitely one of my favourite nail colours at the moment.

MAX FACTOR Glossfinity 
155 Burgundy Crush
In the bottle this looks like a slightly redder Bahama Mama, so another variation of my beloved warm purple-red colour, however, on the nails it's much more mundane and it's a classic bordeaux colour, so it's basically a deep red, but it does have that purple hue in it (again it's a nail colour that looks different on the nail wheel than on my nails). The formula is thick, in fact it reminds me of pastel nail polishes, but due to the darkness of the shade it performs less streaky than for example a mint green nail polish might. It's a one coater that's how intense the formula is. It's still a touch streaky on some nails, so I do a second coat purely because I'm used to, but I could easily leave it at just one. The brush is one of those stone age thin ones.

BALEA My Golden Twenties Pflegecreme mit Rosen-Lavendel Duft
Universal cream with rose-lavender scent
Since I love the 50's Forever cherry version, I got the other one as well. These are fantastic. Seriously. I use them as hand creams because they absorb so fast, yet do the job well and I even started using them on my face, since I ran out of my moisturiser and they are great. Ha, I just found a face cream for a euro. Score! This version has, as the name suggest, a rose-lavender scent, however to me it smells a bit like honey mixed with lavender, so I love it.

YVES ROCHER Pear Caramel Shower Cream
Last year's Christmas collection by Yver Rocher was very fruity inspired and I was super lucky to win this in a giveaway they organised (I never win anything!). I really like this, it's actually my favourite shower product at the moment. It smells exactly like pears and I mean exactly like it. It feels like an expensive shower product and it is pleasantly creamy while it still foams very well. My only complaint is the packaging. It's just a simple bottle with a screw off lid, so the content just run out of the bottle, but it looks so pretty in the bathroom. This thing needs a pump.

GOT2B Volumania Volumising Hairspray
I have the whole Volumania range now. I'm a fan of the mousse and the styling powder is a lovely product as well, so I took a leap of faith and I grabbed this without researching, since I had a 50% off and I couldn't find my favourite Lee Stafford one. I hate to say this, but this is the dud in the line. It's wet once applied, therefore sticky and it leaves the hair too stiff. I'll probably end up using it next year to spray the Christmas tree so it stays fresh for weeks becuase on the hair it's just to noticeable.

LE PETITE MARSEILLIAIS Huile Elixir Karité & Argan
I saw this pre-wash treatment in E.Leclerc and it intrigued me instantly because it's a nice combination of oils without silicones (soy oil, argan oil, shea butter oil and a couple of vitamins. Ingredients here.). My hair is super dry at the moment (central heating and using mostly drugstore masks is just bad for my hair), so I'll take anything to make my hair not dry out the second day after washing. This oil is in spray form, but the nozzle is rubbish, so it's better to spray a bit in the hand and then apply it.  I've applied this very generously overnight and it's fantastic. My hair hasn't felt this nourished since summer and it didn't dry out for several days. I must say, so far I'm impressed. I've tried using it on the ends of the hair on second and later day hair to cope with the dryness, but it's very, very greasy so even I have to apply it very moderately. The scent is kind of a nutty one, but it's not the best.

Oh, how happy I was to see this in Celje's Műller, it's long gone in my town. I didn't hesitate to grab it and run to the register with it. This is hands down the best hair spray I've tried so far. No stickiness, wetness, stiffness, it's like nothing is in your hair and yet it holds so well. The Angel-like scent is not my favourite, but I will gladly put up with it, just so I have this in my life

Nail Polish Remover
I bought the second one of these, though I have noticed that it dries my nails and the previous one got "dirty/coloured" way quicker than Bourjois one. It's cheap that's why I got it. The one thing that it is better than at the Bourjois one is that the foam is softer and feels better quality.

EBELINE Polishing Nail File
This is one of those files that is designed to polish the whole nail. I haven't polished my nails in a while, so they desperately need it and I really like how glossy they look after polishing, almost like I used a clear nail polish. I used to own the Essence version a long time ago, but Ebeline's one has only three different textures compared to four at Essence's file.

Deborah Atomic Red 09 and a Small Haul

I recently swatched most of the Atomic Red lipsticks from Deborah. This week I purchased a shade numbered 09. It a light pink with slight beige tones (on my lips almost a medium pink) with a cream finish. It's very creamy (unfortunately so creamy it settles in lines) and moisturising  It lasts long on the lips. The most similar shade I used to own is Jing-a-ling by Benefit, however this is a warm pink while Jing-a ling has blue undertones. It is also very similar to Runway pink by E.l.f., but 09 is darker.
Pred kratkim se swatchala večino Deborinih Atomic Red šmink, sama sem kasneje kupila odtenek številka 09. Je svetlo roza z nekaj bež toni z kremnim finišem, zelo vlažilna in precej obstojna. Na žalost je tako kremna, da se vsede v ''gubice'' ustnic, ampak je vseeno zelo dobra šminka v primerjavi z ostalimi za podobno ceno, ki se dobijo v Sloveniji. Od šmink, ki sem jih imela, je najbolj podobna Benefitovi Jing-a-ling in E.l.f.-ovi Runway pink (od slednje je temnejša). Kupila sem jo v Müllerju za 8,59€.

In other news, I found a potential dupe for Mac's Hue lipstick (my favourite shade ever!). It's called True lip colour in shade 47 by Make up Factory (German high-end brand, I think it's only sold in Müller). It's really, really similar. I think it about 14-15€, which is (if I remember correctly) cheaper than a Mac lipstick in Austria. I have pictures where I compared the two, but they turned out bad, so here a picture just with MUF 47.
Našla sem nadomestek za Macovo Hue (moja najljubša šminka ever) in to v Müllerju. Gre za True lip color šminko v odtenku 47 od Make up Factory. Je izjemno podobna Macovi Hue in še cenejša, kot če bi jo šla kupit v Avstrijo, stane nekje 14-15€. Ko mi zmanjka Hue jo bom sigurno kupila.



I also purchased some falsies from Essence and a 15 ml bottle of Jean-Paul Grand fragrance called My Love purple.
Kupila sem še par umetnih trepalnic od Essence in 15 ml stekleničko parfuma My Love vijola od Jean-Paul Grand.

I think My Love is the name of the collection of 4 fragrances (all are 15 ml). All were very nice (I might be purchasing another one), the light blue one is very similar to Miss Dior Cherie. The dark purple one that I bought is sort of similar to Marine Groove by Escada (my favourite fragrance). So far I've seen them only in Müller. And they are really cheap, a mere 3€ per bottle.
Kolikor mi uspelo videti je My Love neka kolekcija 4 parfumov (vsi po 15 ml), ne vem če je omejena, sem jih pa videla v Müllerju. Stanejo po 3€, temno vijolični, ki sem ga kupila je malo podoben Escadinem Marine Groove (moj najljubši parfum). Svetlo moder se mi je zdel zelo podoben Miss Dior Cherie. Meni vsi zelo lepo dišijo, mogoče kupim še kakšnega.

Deborah Atomic Red Lipsticks


There's two types of Atomic Red lipsticks, one is a regular line (with 14 shades) and the other which consists of mat shades (7) is called Atomic Red Mat. The testers were a mess, the numbers were mixed up, some of the shades were missing, some had a different packaging, just really confusing. The only mat shade there was 09, but I have an older picture of mat shade 12, which is I believe a LE. The only shade that appeals to my taste is 09 (from the regular line, 2nd pic), it's a nice light to medium pink with a cream finish. 08 would be gorgeous, if it weren't frosty, but with all that frost it looks a bit cheap. I never owned a Deborah lipstick, but I am tempted to try 09 out. 12 (regular line) also looks nice. 01, 02 and 09 (mat) simply horrify me.

Bourjois Sweet Kiss Naturel Lipstick Swatches + Some Givenchy & Deborah

Bourjois has a new range of lipstick called Sweet Kiss Naturel. Quoted from their website: ''It's formula of 100% natural origin bring radiance and care to the lips.'' They felt a bit drying when I swatched them and they have a semi-mat finish, none of the shades contains shimmer (yay!). I like 05 and 06 a lot. 05 look really dark in the tube, but it applies quite sheer raspberry colour, kind of similar to how Barry M's Touch of Magic looks on me.
The other 2 lipsticks that I swatched are Givenchy Rouge Interdit in 11 (a light bubble gum pink) and Deborah Atomic Red Matt in 12 (matt beige nude)

Haul Deborah and Manhattan

Deborah Kohl Kajal

It's a part of a new Deborah collection, the name of which eluded me. It's very pigmented, easy to smudge and it never needs sharpening. However it was about 10 €, which is very expensive, considering that Sleek makeup sells the same thing for £3.99.

Kohl je del nove kolekcije od Deborah, katere ime se ne spomnim (lol). Je prvi eyeliner take oblike pri nas, vsaj kolikor sem jaz na tekočem. Je zelo pigmentiran, se ga lahko zabriše in ga ni potrebno šiliti. Bil je 10 €, Sleek (britanska znamka) ima enak eyeliner za 4 funte.

I bought 2 of the Mat Lipcreams named 56K and 45H (95G is a beige-brown colour, which is soo not my colour):

These are GORGEOUS. They are supposed to be lip glosses, however, they feel more like liquid lipsticks. They provide a full-coverage, mat colour with amazing lasting power. They have a very strong sweet scent, which reminds me of banana yoghurt  Give them a try if you have a chance, because they are amazing. They were about 7€ each.
Ti glosi so ČUDOVITI. So bolj kot tekoče šminke, polnoprekrivni in majo mat finiš, ter so izjemno obstojni. Imajo zelo močen sladek vonj, ki me še najbolj spominja na bananin jogurt. Če imate možnost in jih definitivno preizkusite, so vredne tistih 6-7 €.
