Colours of the Rainbow Tag

This tag was really popular a few months back, but I still see an occasional post popping up. So the rules are to take all seven colours of the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet) plus pink and multi-coloured, and talk about your favourite beauty or fashion item that fits with those colours. I honestly enjoyed doing this tag and this definitely one of the most colourful posts I ever posted.

ESSENCE Guerilla Gardening TE Floral Glam lip cream

I could choose any of my red lipsticks here, as I really enjoy wearing them and I wear them frequently. I chose Floral Glam not just because it's currently my favourite red, but also because it's a lip cream and they are my favourite type of lip colours as they are very pigmented, last so long and have a matte finish. I did a comparison of most my red shades in the review for this lip cream and Floral Glam is an orange based red that bears a lot of resemblance to Mac's Lady Danger and MUA's 13 (again some of my favourites).

KÉRASTASE Masquintense Epais

I never realised I have so many thing that are orange! And all the good stuff actually. So naturally I had difficulties picking one and I cheated a bit by making a second picture of my other choice - The Body Shop Vineyard Peach body butter here. I could include the entire Nutritive line from Kérastase here, well at least the products I got, because all of them all fantastic. I just keep getting more and more impressed by this mask. Every time I use it, everyday is a good hair day and I think that sums it up just nicely.

 NUXE Huile Prodigieuse

It was the most obvious choice out of all. I have, after all, been using it every day for more than two years as a face moisturiser. It made my skin so radiant and healthy looking not to mention very soft. It is a multi-purpose product and I also use it for my body and occasionally on my hair, it even works as a lip balm if you don't have anything else handy. Definitely a product worth the hype.

MACADAMIA NATURAL OIL Healing Oil Treatment
I would be really odd for me not to include at least one of the hair "oils". Since Nuxe oil took top place in the yellow category leaving no place for Orofluido, Macadamia was the best choice for green. They all perform so similarly that the only thing really differentiating them is the scent. Macadamia might not have the best scent in the world (mind you, some adore it, but get the sample size first just to be sure), but it is great for dry hair and I find it to be the one with the best defrizzing and shine properties.

TIGI Bed Head Masterpiece Massive Shine Hair Spray

I had difficulties choosing the blue product that deserves the top spot. I have many, but none really stands out. I decided then on what is the most obvious choice for me because I've been using this hairspray for years, particularly when I curl my hair. I never really talked about it apart from saying it has a tropical scent, but it doesn't make your hair stiff or sticky and manages to hold my curls in a decent condition for days.

MAX FACTOR Khol Pencil in Natural Glaze
This is one of those unsung heroes that I've been using everyday for years on my waterline and a bit in my inner corner to make the eyes look more awake and bigger. It's a fantastic fleshtoned eyeliner with peachy tones for an affordable price. If you don't have it yet, you need it.

VICTORIA'S SECRET Love Spell Fragrance Mist
This is my signature Summer scent which smells like a refreshing tropical fizzy drink. Sadly it doesn't last long, about an hour, but respraying it offers an instant refreshment on hotter days.

Fantasy eau de Parfum

This was the only scent that I wore for over a year, so it definitely deserves the top spot among "the pinks". It's a very girly fragrance, featuring a delicious blend of kiwi and lichee notes with vanilla and white chocolate. Yeah you'll smell like sweets and cupcakes, but to me it's a comforting scent and I'm a fan of such sweet fragrances. The projection and staying power is exceptional for a celebrity fragrance and you can find good deals online, so it's reasonably priced.

 SLEEK Original palette

Finding a multicoloured item wasn't an easy task, I don't even have any apart from the palettes. Sleek's Original one has been in my collection for quite a while, but I use it very rarely. The reason is that I rarely wear bright coloured eyeshadows (or any really) but if I need a bright blue, violet or green this the place to look. It's an affordable palette for those who want to experiment with colours. By the way, Sleek palettes have one of the best black eyeshadows.

I added a category with the mint green/teal/turquoise/ blue-green shades, since it is (are) my favourite colour(s) and selected Essie Mint Candy Apple. It's THE mint nail polish and has received many raves not just from me, but also from other beauty bloggers. I must admit, it is not the easiest polish to apply, yet I wear it the most out of all of my nail polishes. I have a few dupes, Depend 245 is pretty much a spot on dupe as is the already discontinued You Belong to Me by Essence.

Sleek i-Divine Palette Sunset

The colours of the sunset packed into one palette. The moment I opened it, I thought these shades are perfect for blue eyes. It's a nice mix of wearable, everyday shades and some statement colours. Most of the shades are very warm toned with exception of the bright blue and black. All are iridescent, only black is matte. Sleek palettes have one of the best black eyeshadows I've ever found. It's a really pigmented charcoal black that I use everyday for an invisible liner. Textures differ from shade to shade, the 3rd shade on the top is very, very soft, almost like butter, while black is the hardest. All are very pigmented and you get a lot of colour pay-off, however, they have a bit of a fall out. They blend nicely and last long on the lids, but I do get some creasing after a few hours.

Barve sončnega zahoda zbrane v eni paletki. Takšni odtenki so super za poudarjanje modrih oči. Moje so mešanica med sivo, modro ter zeleno in takšni topli odtenki z oranžnimi, rumeni in rdečkastimi toni naredijo moje oči bolj modre. Paletka ima lepo kombinacijo nosljivih in bolj živih odtenkov, ki pa so večinoma topli, z izjemo modre in črne. Vsi odtenki so zelo pigmentirani, tekstura pa je odvisna od odtenka. Na primer, tretji odtenek v zgornji vrsti je zelo, zelo mehek, že skoraj kot kakšno kremno senčilo, medtem ko je črna najmanj mehka. Vsi odtenki imajo svetleč/bleščičast finiš razen črne, ki je mat. Sleekova črna senčka, ki je v večini paletk, je ena izmed najboljših črnih kar se jih našla. Je izjemno pigmentirana, prava črna, kakšno uporabljam vsak dan za t.i. efekt nevidnega eyelinerja. Ker so tako mehke, padajo na lička, če dobro ne otreseš čopiča. Senčke se lepo blendajo in  zdržijo dolgo na vekah, ampak mi malenkost zlezejo v gubo po nekaj urah nošenja.

Prva barva v drugi vrsti je moja najljubša. Je rjav odtenek s pridihi slive, ki je kot nekakšen bratranec Macovemu odtenku Satin Taupe. 

I also own Storm and the Original palette that I got from London three years ago.

Sleek Sheer Cover Lipsticks

Sheer cover lipsticks are a collection of frosty, semi-opaque shades. The texture is nice in a sense that it is soft and a bit moisturising. These are frosty, however, not in a retro kind of way (do you remember the obnoxiously frosty light pinks that were popular in the 90's and early 2000's? I still see a few girls wearing them today). You can see the tiny shimmer from really close, but from far away it looks more like sheen (not a glossy one though). Staying power is average, the colour lasted around four hours, but it doesn't survive eating or drinking. It fades evenly, unless you drink something, then you are left with a ring of colour on the edges of lips and no colour in the middle. They don't dry out my lips at all and don't feather. The packaging is a bit special, because the tube is oval and the colour is bright fuchsia. 

Sheer Cover so Sleekove manj prekrivne šminke s frosty finišem (z drobnimi bleščicami). Tekstura je med mehkejšimi in lepo zdrsijo po ustnicah, malenkost jih tudi negujejo. Frosty finish je viden od blizu, od daleč pa izgleda bolj kot rahel sijaj (ampak ne tak kot npr. pri Lip butterjih). Ni tako intenziven frosty efekt kot pri tistih svetlo roza odtenkih, ki so bili tako popularni v 90ih in okrog leta 2000. Bledijo enakomerno, razen če vmes ješ ali piješ, potem ti ostane barva le na robovih ustnic. Obstojnost je povprečna, na meni so zdržale dobre 4 ure in mi niso niti malo izsušile ustnic. Embalaža je malo posebna, ker je tulec ovalen in precej žive roza barve.

Calico is a nude-brown shade with a frosty finish. It's would probably be a nice nude on someone who's darker than me. It has the least pigmentation out of the three, but you can build it up to be more intense.  

Calico je nude rjav odtenek s frosty finišem. Na nekomu, ki je temnejši kot jaz bi bil to lep nude odtenek. Je najmanj pigmentiran od treh, vendar se lahko dobi kar nekaj barve z več sloji.

Cashmere is a dark brown-purple shade with frosty finish.

Cashmere je temno rjav odtenek, ki na ustnicah precej vleče na slivo s frosty finišem.

Organza is a medium blue toned pink with frosty finish. It reminds me a bit of Revlon Sweet Tart lip butter, with the difference that Sweet Tart is a bit warmer.

Organza je hladna srednje roza s frosty finišem. Primerjala sem odtenek s Revlonovim Sweet Tart lip butterjem in sta si podobna, le da ima Sweet Tart toplejši podton in nima bleščic.

Sleek Pout Paint in Minx

When I was ordering Sleek Pout Paints the first time (review is here), I decided to skip Minx, because I had a feeling it might be too similar to Milkshake. Boy was I wrong. Seeing Minx for the first time in person, I thought ''Well, that can't be good''. It looks so brown in the packaging and I really hate brown(ish) shades. Boy was I wrong again. It turns out that Minx is by far the most wearable shade for me out of all Pout Paints I own. Milkshake is just a little bit too bright to be wearing it on its own (although that doesn't stop me sometimes, I do love bright shades). Minx, on the other hand, is a perfect mix of pink and beige. It's nude shade, but not too nude. It really is one of the best everyday shades for me (I'm super pale though, NC 15 and Healthy Mix 51). For a fast application I use fingers and for a more precise application I use a lip brush. It lasts reasonably long on the lips, though it's not a record breaker in terms of longevity. Fortunately, this one doesn't oxidise on my lips like Milkshake does (that one turns into a much darker pink in a couple of hours). If you plan to get any shades from the Pout Paint range and you like more nude shades, pick this one over Milkshake. It's just more wearable.

Sleek Pout Paints

I'm sure most of you have already heard about Sleek's Pout Paints. I've been patiently awaiting  the day they'll finally started selling them online and when it came, I ordered three shades - Milkshake, Peachy Keen and Cloud 9. For years I've been searching the perfect peachy shade for me and I decided to custom mix it myself. I was very much inspired by Katie's blog post which you can find here (and here is another post of hers about Pout Paints). I ordered them from the Sleek web site. The order took four work days to arrive, which is super fast. The only thing the bothers me is the super high shipping cost. They charge 9 € for signed for delivery which is more than one Pout Paint (7 €).

Pout Paints are supposed to be OCC Lip Tar dupe, personally I don't know because I don't own any Lip Tars. These are super pigmented, you literally only need a small dot of product. I use either fingers or lip brush (I have one from The Body Shop), both methods work just fine. They feel a bit like Soft Mat Lip Creams (both from NYX or Manhattan since they are essentially the same), they don't feel sticky, but just sort of creamy. They don't dry out my lips, but they aren't particularity moisturising either. Unlike Soft Mat Lip Creams these do transfer on the glass/bottle when you drink. I love the fact they have such a precise applicator and you can easily control the amount you want. The tubes are nice and sleek with see-through plastic, so you can see how much is still left in the tube. They last a really long time on the lips, much longer than your run-of-the-mill lipstick. They don't have any scent or taste. Here are swatches of all three and one where I mixed them:

Milkshake is a bright bubble gum pink. On me it looks super bright, but mind you I am very pale. Out of the three it is the most wearable.

Peachy Keen is a orange-peachy shade that by itself doesn't really look good on me. I bought it for mixing with other shades.

Here is a custom mixed shade I made. I used about and 1:1:0,5 mix of Milkshake, Peachy Keen  and Cloud 9.

Highlighters

Highlighters are one of my favourite make up product. A touch of highlighter on the top of the cheekbones, (also down the nose and on the cupid's bow) just gives that final touch to your make up. But you have to be careful when applying it, because you don't want to make it look to obvious. You don't want to have a very visible shimmery stripe on your cheekbones that just screams ''I'm wearing to much highlighter'' (unless that's what you're going for), you just want it to look like your skin is healthy and dewy. The key is to blend your highlighter with your foundation. I've learned this trick from Lisa Eldridge, who is one of my favourite make up guru's on Youtube (I'll post the video at the end of the post). What you want to do is to apply your (in this case liquid or cream) highlighter after you applied your foundation (rather than only after blush) and really blend it into your skin. Than apply blush and blend a bit of highlighter again on your cheekbones and blending it with your blush. It's a great trick and it makes your skin look amazing.

Highlighterji oz.osvetljevalci so eni izmed mojih najljubših izdelkov. Malo osvetljevalca na vrhu ličnic da tisti svetleč in zdrav videz, ter poveže celotni make up. Ampak z njim je treba biti previden, namreč nihče ne želi imeti očitne svetleče črte na obrazu, ki kar kriči ''imam preveč osvetljevalca'' (razen če si tak videz pač želite). Ključno je da zabrišete osvetljevalec v samo podlago, tako da ni vidnih prehodov. Ta trik sem se naučila od Lise Eldridge, ki je ena izmed mojih naljubših make up gurujev na Youtubu (ta posnetek bom dodala na konec te objave). Osvetljevalec (v tem primeru najboljše tekoči ali kremni) nanesite zatem ko ste nanesle podlago (torej pred nanosom blusha) in zabrišite vse prehode. Nato nanesite blush in spet zabrišite malenkost highligterja na ličnice in ga zabrišite še malo v sam blush.

Here are all of my highlighters /Tu so še moji osvetljevalci:

 1. Essence Moonlight Collection LE Shimmer Powder - a very light highlighter, not particularity pigmented. Because it's so subtle I actually prefer to use it on my cheeks or on top of blush to give it that extra luminosity./ je bolj malo pigmentiran in zato, ker ni tako očiten, ga raje uporabljam za lička in čez blush da dodam tak zdrav sijaj. Podoben osvetljevalec, ki mi je zelo všeč pa ga nimam sama, je iz Blossom etc. LE.

2. E.l.f. Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder - It's to light to be a bronzer, but it's a great cheap highlighter with golden tones. It's very pigmented and soft, price-wise it's a bargain (1,7€), but the packaging is really cheap looking (then who cares considering the price). Again, it works very well alone on the cheeks or on top of blush. It's a great colour for summer, when you have a bit of colour./ Naj vas ime ne zavede ni bronzer, ker je presvetel, ampak je super in poceni osvetljevalec z zlatimi toni. Je precej pigmentiran in mehek, je izjemno poceni (1,7€), ter embalaža je izjemno slabo narejena (ampak za 1,7 € kaj boljšega ne moreš pričakovat). Je super za poletje ko imaš že nekaj barve. Kot Essencovega ga rada uporabljam na ličkih samih in čez blush.

3. High Beam by Benefit - Expensive (around 20€), but you get a massive amount. You only need a little amount so it will last you ages. The packaging is like an oversized Essence nail polish. It has a nail polish type applicator. This one is my current choice of highlighter (apart from Jemma Kidd's one). Because it's liquid, you can get the most natural result, but you can really go heavy on this one. / Je zelo drag (okrog 20€), ampak dobiš ogromno količino. Potrebuješ ga nanesti res majhno količino, zato dvomim da mi ga bo kdaj uspelo porabit (rok trajanja je le 6 mesecev, kar mi je čudno). Embalaža je kot malo večji lak za nohte od Essence, dejansko je čopič kot od laka. Trenutno največ uporabljam ta osvetljevalce, poleg Ice Gold od Jemme Kidd. Ker je tekoč se z njim dobi zelo naraven sijaj, ker se ga da lepo zabrisat, ampak ni ga težko nanesti tudi preveč.

4. Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow Radiance Creme in Ice Gold - one of my two favourite highlighters ever (the other one being Mac Vanilla pigment). It's so easy to use (I use fingers), simply because it's a cream. The packaging is great with a big mirror. I always have it in my make up bag, it's easy to touch it up whenever you need or want. It gives the most natural, dewy result / Eden izmed dveh mojih najljubših osvetljevalcev (drugi je Macov pigment Vanilla). Je zelo enostaven za uporabo, jaz ga nanašam kar s prsti, se lepo zblenda in zabriše, da res naraven sijoč videz, skratka super. Embalaža je primerna za potovanja, ima veliko ogledalo tako da lahko kadarkoli popraviš make up.

But don't feel limited by the description of the product. You can use an shimmery eyeshadow as highlighter. I found quite a few shimmery eyeshadows in my collection. So look through your stash, you might find something useful. / Ni vam pa seveda treba steči v drogerijo po osvetljevalec, uporabite lahko tudi navadno svetleče senčilo. Sama imam kar nekaj takih senčil v svoji zbirki, tako da preglejte kaj imate v svoji, morda najdete kar uporabnega.

 1. Vanilla pigment by Mac - A fantastic highlighter. It just looks so great on the skin, I know it doesn't look that great on the picture, but in real life it's just gorgeous/ Odličen osvetljevalec, enostavno izgleda čudovito na koži. Čeprav na moji sliki izgleda bolj bogo je v živo krasen)

2. Alverde Baked eyeshadow in Elegant Beige - Mine's all broken and messed up, sorry about that. A very shimmery highlighter, be careful not to apply to much, but it's a great highlighter/eyeshadow./ Moj je ves razbit, ker so tale senčila precej krhka. Precej bleščičašt osvetljevalec/senčilo, ki ga lahko najdete v vsakem DM-u. Samo bodite previdni pri nanosu, kaj kmalu ga lahko nanesete preveč.

3. Essence eyeshadow from More Than a Fairy Tale palette (Secrets of the Past LE) - A very subtle highlighter, great for those who don't want a lot of shimmer. It just gives a bit of luminosity./ Zelo primeren osvetljevalec za tiste ki ne marate bleščič. Če imate to paletko slučajno v kakšnem predalu, preizkusite to senčilo kot osvetljevalec, da tisti sijoč videz brez da bi bil preveč bleščeč.

4. 2nd eyeshadow from top row in Sleek's Storm Palette - A very shimmery one, use a light hand when applying it.

5. Urban Decay Virgin eyeshadow from the Naked Palette - another more demure shade, but it does contain some shimmer

6. Urban Decay Sin eyeshadow - very shimmery, I use it in the inner corners of my eyes. It's better suited for darker skintone if you intend to use it as a highlighter.
