Things I'm Loving Right Now - Summer Brights

With Summer finally here, I started reaching for some brighter shades of lipstick. I purchased four more in the past weeks (having a bit of a lipstick craze at the moment), mostly Catrice which turned out to be very good lipsticks.

My choices for this summer are (coloured text is a link to previous review and swatches):

1st row from left to right in the first picture and on swatches:
- Revlon Matte 004 Pink About it
- Beauty UK 10 Passion
- Shiseido Glowing Matte PK 224 (a new one, I tried taking swatches but they turned out horribly. But in short, it's a great mix of light coral and pink, a nice everyday shade)

2nd row:
- Catrice Ultimate Colour 210 Pinkadilly Circus
- Catrice Ultimate Colour 100 Lobster Love
- Catrice Ultimate Shine 210 Kiss Kiss Hibiskus

3rd row:
 - Essence 55 Coralize Me!
 - IsaDora Jelly Kiss 47 Coral Punch
 - Maybelline ColorSensational Popstick 020 Tropical Pink

As I said before I purchased four new lipsticks - in the 2nd row from left to right are all from Catrice: Ultimate Colour 210 Pinkadilly Circus, Ultimate Colour 100 Lobster Love and Ultimate Shine 210 Kiss Kiss Hibiskus; and in the 3rd row is Maybelline ColorSensational Popstick 020 Tropical Pink.

All three Catrice lippies are very pigmented. Ultimate Colours have a satin finish and last very well on the lips (survive eating and drinking quite well actually, another shade I own is Frozen Rose). Ultimate Shine one is also very pigmented but has a more glossy finish. Pinkadilly Circus is a medium pink shade. Lobster Love is a bright coral red shade. Kiss Kiss Hibiskus is a bright watermellon dark pink shade (supposedly a dupe for Mac's Impassioned). Catrice lippies cost 4,19 € in our drugstore and I highly recommend checking them out, the quality is really impressive.

Maybelline ColorSensational Popstick 020 Tropical Pink is one of their new ''see-through/transparent '' type of lipsticks. My pictures of the lipstick in the tube are horrible (my camera hates corals it seems), in real life it's not that orange, it's more of a coral pink shade (this is a much better picture click). It's more of a stain and looks very transparent on the lips. It smells amazing, sort of tropical fruity and moisturises very well. It costs around 10 €.

In other news, I got a package from Korea yesterday with my new BB cream. I purchased Holika Holika Peach Girl BB cream SPF37 PA++ in shade #2, which is still a very light shade (actually almost identical to Skin79 Pink Label). It comes with a very cute coral cream blush and a mirror in the lid. So far I've worn it once and I like it a lot. It has a bit of a dewy finish and more coverage than Skin79 Pink Label. A more detailed review and swatches will follow as soon as I test it properly.

Things I'm Loving Right Now: Coral

I already wrote in the previous post how my new top inspired my recent lipstick purchase, so when I came home I searched my make up collection for other coral shades I have. Consequently, I've been wearing corals a lot in the past week. So here are they (colored text is a link to the swatch):

• Benefit Coralista - a beautiful coral shade with gold shimmer, makes your cheeks look luminous:

• Manhattan Soft Mat Lipcream in 53M
• Essence Stay with me 03 Candy Bar 
• MNY lipgloss in 365 (looks like Coralista in a gloss form, contains a lovely gold shimmer)

• IsaDora Jelly Kiss in 47 Coral Punch

• Miss Sporty nail polish in shade 370 (one of my all-time favorites. It's a gorgeous shade)
• Manhattan 43K 
• Essence in BBC Pink Heat (which is more red than coral, but it's a beautiful summery shade)

IsaDora Jelly Kiss 47 Coral Punch

I bought the most beautiful top in New Yorker, the color is just a gorgeous bright coral pink, so in the spur of the moment, being inspired by the colour  I bought a matching lipstick (and to think I was only heading for ice cream and Műller just happened to be open at 8 p.m. ''Facepaw''). So after checking a slew of lipsticks, I finally found one - the IsaDora Jelly Kiss in 47 Coral Punch (I already swatched some Jelly Kiss lippies here). It is a beautiful pinky coral, it's a more sheer colour and very shiny (like a mix between a gloss and a lipstick). It's perfect for those who want to wear some colour, but don't feel comfortable wearing an opaque, ''in-your-face'' bright lipstick. It feels very moisturizing when you apply it, but after a while the shine disappears and lips become a tad dry. The packaging is a very nice, silver tube with some sort of a magnet to keep the tube closed. Jelly Kiss lipsticks cost around 13 €.

IsaDora Sun Protecting Make Up Set

Müller is/was selling this brilliant set of IsaDora make up and it immediately caught my attention. For 8 € you get a gel bronzer (35 ml), a powder bronzer (11 g) and a lip gloss (6 ml). That is a fantastic deal if you ask me. All products have sun protection, although it could be higher. 

I'll start with the gel bronzer. It's brilliant. Not to dark, it's almost like a darker foundation and has no orange tones in it. I'm about NC 15 (Healthy Mix 51) and it doesn't look fake on me at all. I apply it all over the face and neck (also ears) and it just looks like I have a natural, subtle tan. The texture is quite creamy, not greasy and it blends nicely. It's also perfect for mixing with your regular foundation. It's not scented and it has a SPF 10. The packaging is a nice squeeze tube. Overall a great product.

Compact Powder in 42 Terracotta Nougat is another brilliant product for paler skintones. It's supposed to be matte, but it does contain some gold shimmer. I apply it on the cheeks, neck and chest. It does not look orange at all, it's just a beautiful tan colour. This one has an SPF 8. It's nicely pigmented and soft, I use the Ecotools brush for bronzer, however it does come with a little sponge, but I don't find it that useful. The packaging is bright yellow-orange and  it has a small mirror. The only thing I have difficulties with is that it's a bit hard to open.

The last thing is the lip gloss in 21 Apricot Pink. It a beautiful pink shade with some peach and with lots of gold shimmer. It's very sheer on the lips, but the shimmer makes it look amazing. I've been wearing this gloss almost every day since I bought it. My swatch on the lips really doesn't give it justice. It's not sticky and just feels lovely on the lips. It has a brush applicator.

I bought this set about a week ago and I remember they had quite a few more of them, but as my cousin informed me they aren't there anymore. So I you do happen to find them, I highly recommend it. It's a great value for money.

IsaDora Bronzing Powder 90 Bronze Tan

90 Bronze tan is a part of IsaDora's summer collection called Jungle Fever. There are 4 bronzers in this collection, some are matte and some have a light shimmer. 90 is a matte bronze colour and it's not in the least bit orange, it's also very pigmented. I don't own one, but my cousin does, so she graciously allowed  me to use hers for review purposes. The compact is massive (about twice the size of my Estee Lauder one) and it has a big mirror, which is very handy. My cousin is about NC20-25 (Healty Mix 53) and she loves it, it suits her perfectly. Unfortunately it's too bronze to be good for contouring. She payed about 15 € for it with a discount, I believe the original price was around 19€.

Sama sicer nimam tega bronzerja, ima pa ga sestrična, ki je bila dovolj prijazna in ga posodila za blog. Bronzer ni niti malo oranžen, kar je velik plus in je precej pigmentiran. Embalaža je ogromna, približno 2x večja od mojega Estee Lauder bronzerja in ima zelo uporabno veliko ogledalo. Sestrična je temnejša kot jaz, nekje približno NC20-25 (Healthy Mix 53) in ji zelo ustreza. Je pa preveč bronast, da bi bil dober za senčenje ličnic. Mislim, da je bil nekje okrog 15€ s popustom (Müller), originalna cena je bila nekje okrog 19 €.

Haul & Reviews: Vichy, Isadora

First off Vichy Aqualia Thermal serum. After reading quite a few positive reviews I got myself a bottle too (a review from Passing Fancy really prompted me to get it. You can find here review here.) I've been using it for a week now and I'm not going to be so generous with praises. Don't get me wrong, it is a great product, but it's not amazing. Let me begin with a description of my skin. I have a combination skin with some dry patches (mainly on the lower part of the forehead). I've had these dry patches for years now and no matter what moisturiser I used and how many times I exfoliated, they were still there. But with this serum they finally (!) started disappearing (there are still some left above one of my eyebrows), but the state is definitely improving. Another thing I noticed is how much better my foundation looks after application (Max Factor Liquid Illusion, just trying to use it up). Before I didn't even apply foundation on my forehead, simply because it really emphasized those dry areas (even with moisturiser underneath). However I don't find my skin being more dewy or looking more healthy. Maybe it just needs more time. The serum is very light so I like to apply my regular moisturiser on top (CadeaVera Young Fluid for normal to dry skin when I'm at home and Neutrogena Oil-free moisturiser when I'm in Ljubljana). It has a very light scent, which is difficult to describe, it's kind of typical chemist scent. I love the packaging, a nice glass bottle with a pump which dispenses the right amount of product (I use one pump for my face). Here it cost 18€ something for 30 ml of product.

If you remember my Isadora Fanciful post, I said I'd love to have their Glow Stick if I could find it a bit cheaper. In fact I did :). Limoni sells it for outrageous 18-19€, I got mine in Müller for 15,60 €. And I love it. It gives that gorgeous light flush and that great glow on the cheeks. I tried to get a picture of it on me but my camera hates me. I also saw the new collection Jungle Fever. The powder bronzer looked very nice, but the new Glow Stick looked very copper on me.

And the last thing is Wild rose oil from Müller. I ''borrowed'' it from my brother (btw bro you're not getting it back). He bought it in his Roaccutanne era when his skin was incredibly dry and he found oils to be the best to fight the dryness. He got it as a replacement for Dr. Hauschka Normalizing Oil (which he loved) and strangely enough the scent is identical. I personally don't love it, but I don't hate it either (I'm one of those people who dislike the smell of roses. Weird I know). I've been using it for a week now and I have to say that my skin feels a lot softer. Another thing I like is that it absorbs relatively quickly. There are more oils available in Müller (I know there's almond oil) and they cost about 5€ for 100 ml, but I'm not sure.

IsaDora Fanciful (Spring 2011) - Lipsticks and Blush Swatches

 

This collection has been out for quite a while. I must have passed the display a dozen times and never really looked at it. Well the visual alone repelled me. But recently Dazzledust25 did a rave video about the Glow stick blush and Pink parfait lipstick, so I finally checked this collection out. Jelly Kiss gel lipstick are completely new. There are four shades available (51 Bare bliss, 52 Rose blush, 53 Pink parfait and 54 Lilac tulle), they all look bright but the formula is sheer and glossy. I think they are very similar to their Cream gloss stylos.

Glow stick blusher in 10 Rose bud is a shimmery rosey-coraly shade. A light application doesn't give much colour, but more  of a highlighting effect, however this doesn't mean you need to use loads for it to show up. The formula is very creamy and easy to blend. It's a gorgeous shade for lighter skin tones, it really brightens the face, but it's also way to expensive for the amount you get (something like those blushes from Rose Garden collection by Alverde). Here it's a bit over 18€ (Limoni), maybe it's cheaper somewhere else, at least I hope it is, I would love to have it.
